Chadstone had 3 main objectives for the July school holiday in 2019. Position themselves as a cultural epicentre, drive late night shopping and increase data capture for future communication. Bringing to life the Star Wars franchise throughout the centre was the perfect opportunity to achieve this.
Following an out of this world PR launch; for 2 weeks shoppers could enjoy a variety of fun, family friendly activities. Adults and kids a like could book online and take part in the live Jedi training or have their photo taken inside a life-sized X-Wing. An AR Jedi challenge was strategically set up in front of JB Hi Fi to help support sales of their Star Wars PlayStation game whilst a Fashion Galaxy showcased Star Wars inspired looks from some of Chadstone’s more luxury retailers.
Across the centre, life-sized character statues and Star Wars memorabilia was set up – perfect for that quick selfie whilst an in centre map & quest drove family engagement throughout.
27K people actively engaged in the takeover activity. Over 10K photos were taken and $93K was achieved in print coverage.
